MBSR for Leaders - Program.
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a form of self-awareness that is often described as “a state of being in the present moment and accepting things for what they are without judgment.” When you are mindful, your awareness is in the current moment and you become keenly aware of yourself and your surroundings. You observe things strictly as they are. You avoid judgment and you do not react to the things going on around you. The first step to awakening mindfulness is to breathe. Why do you need to teach leaders to breathe? Our breath is our only constant in life and for most people, it remains an unconscious constant. High performing athletes master their breath (think MLB pitcher, NBA free throw shooter, PGA golfer). So, for us at Space To Thrive, the bigger question is: why aren’t we teaching our leaders to harness the power of their life force – their breath? |
